Unexplained Absences

Traffic Jam

Avoiding peak hour traffic (and having a sleep-in option) were big considerations when I first set my work hours at the bookshop. That doesn't mean it is always possible to avoid Perth's peak hour traffic though.

As I came to a standstill,
for the fourth time this evening,
in the fast lane of the freeway-cum-carpark
I was ever so grateful for the novelty of it all.

A special kind of zen gene is required to face the hellish norm of peak hour traffic... and very few Perth drivers exhibit that kind of patience. Some of them do have very fancy cars though!
