Name Changer

Something to consider if you ever have the opportunity to name someone or something:

In this clip Mark Forsyth aka The Inky Fool makes a great observation : history changes a word far more than a word can change history.

What or who we name today may not hold true to our association or definition in the days after tomorrows. That's the nature of language. It's what keeps it interesting.

All the same, I find myself quietly hoping that Katie won't someday be synonymous with the blue rinse and bingo cruise terrain currently ruled by Betty and Edna.

Even if that is what I'll be doing for kicks in my later years because I do rather like the idea of pale blue hair.

Say My Name

When I first saw 'personalised' Coke labels,

I thought the concept was naff.

In 2007, apparently they did too.

I don't even drink Coke.

But I loved that our newly adopted pizza joint recently delivered this personalised bottle with our meal deal. They have caller ID and use my name when I ring to order. Their system also remembers my address if we choose delivery. Perhaps I need to get out more; who would have thought take away pizza could be made easier?

SLICE: Their pizzas are good - their small things are awesome!

PS Anyone want a bottle of Coke with my name on it?

DISCLOSURE: Sadly, this is not a sponsored post.

Star Wars Name

Krika, my Star Wars name is.

Out of all the formulas for distilling names (you know... your soap star name, porn star name, detective name etc) the Star Wars equation beats the lot of them. It even beats pirate names! Your Star Wars Name is the first 3 letters of your last name plus the first 2 letters of your first name.
A good one, you have got? Comment for posterity, you may - keep a straight face while reading them, I am yet to.

Cannon Balls Ursula

Yep, pirate names never get old for me. And Cannon Balls Ursula is the latest in my collection!
