Apparently they do, sort of.
Pollen filled sacs as the bee's knees' origin is a tenuous link. Distortion of another phrase - 'the business' (da beeznees) - has been noted. And there's also a shaky reference to the knees of popular 1920's dancer Bee Jackson.
None have a strong claim but all are great stories, so take your pick.
